School Supplies and Food Baskets Distribution

The International Council for Relief and Development launched a campaign to distribute school bags for orphans at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year in the governorates included in the annual orphan sponsorship program, with the distribution of food baskets as well.  The school bag contains the school supplies required in the school. As for the food baskets, they, like the previous ones, contain bags of flour, rice chips, sugar and oil cans.  The  campaign has been completed in Sana’a governorate, Amanat Al-Asimah, Ibb and Al-Dhalea governorates, and the distribution is still going on in each of the governorates of Aden and Taiz. It is worth noting that this campaign is among the campaigns in which the Council aims to provide for orphans under the age of 13 who do not have any breadwinners after the death of their parents or the single father of the family. More than 300 orphans were sponsored for a whole year, including monthly aid, which includes monthly food baskets, school bags and holiday clothing. This program aims to mitigate the effects of the war in Yemen and target the poorest groups who do not have any sources of income. The council’s volunteer team, led by Eng. Abdo Al-Zamzami, director of the Orphans Sponsorship Project, is gratefully doing a great job in terms of bearing the burden of traveling to areas where orphans are located in scattered countryside and difficult to reach, along with orphans in the cities included in the program. Here, the Council extends its thanks and appreciation to the donors and sponsors and invites them to participate in the various programs of the program by visiting the Council’s page Icrdglobal.org
