Save the orphans in Yemen

Story

Mohamed lost his both parents in a plane strike last year in Yemen. No family to support him and his other young three brothers and one sister. With a support from ICRD, Mohamed secured a food for him and his siblings and pursued his education. Many orphans such as Mohamed needs your generous support.

Summary

This project will provide the food and education expense for 70 orphans in Yemen who are under 13 years old and lost their parents in the current civil war. 2. 60$ is the estimated budget to sponsor one orphan per month and $720 per year; the food basket is composed of a 50 kg flour, 10 kg rice, 10 kg sugar and 4L food oil.

Challenge

Based on the latest UN report from Yemen, the civil war caused more than 82% of population to be in need of urgent aid. 77 children out of every 1,000 die due to malnutrition and millions of children left their schools and work in arduous work in order to support their families. In this project, we target to save the lives of Yemeni children, especially the orphan, who does not have any source of income.

Solution

The International Council for Relief and Development (ICRD) has prepared a sponsorship program for orphans under the age of thirteen who lost their parents or one of them for a period of one year, renewable in case the necessary resources are available.

Long-Term Impact

The project will secure the food and education for 70 orphans in Yemen for long period. These orphans will support their families when got better education and care.
