According to the UNWFP, 16.2 million Yemenis are food insecure and face hunger due to natural calamities, civil wars, or poverty. The humanitarian crisis in Yemen is extremely fragile increasing the potential of millions closer to starvation and death. The International Council for Relief and Development aims at hunger-free world through distribution of food assistance and empowerment of communities. Through a partnership with our donors, we have helped families and communities who have limited food resources.
During the humanitarian crisis, many families lost their source of livelihood. Good nutrition is one of the preventive measures against the disease. Through this understanding, we have heightened our supplies for emergency food assistance to attend to urgent situations. ICRD launching more than 20 food distribution programs in many cities in Yemen and we worked with other humanitarian organizations to feed families facing hunger.
